Six Red Flashes: Why Frank's E-Z-GO Wouldn't Charge in Murrieta

Frank's E-Z-GO had two complaints: it wasn't charging, and it was slow going up hills.

Jayden headed to Murrieta to take a look. When he got into the battery compartment, the first surprise was all the hay packed in around the batteries. Then he checked the pack voltage. It read 40 volts, and one battery was down at just 6 volts.

That explained the charger, too. It was flashing red six times. That code means the charger can't charge because the pack voltage is too low.

Frank planned to replace the batteries himself, so Jayden gave him a simple plan: put in the new batteries, then try the charger again. If it still won't charge, the next step is a new charger, and Jayden said he'd have one ready for Frank to order.

The happy ending: no more guessing. Frank knows why the cart was slow and why the charger wouldn't start, and he has a clear next step.

One weak battery can drag down a whole pack. If your charger is blinking a code or your cart is slowing on hills, a pack voltage check is a good place to start.
