A complete DC-to-AC drivetrain conversion for 48-volt golf carts: the Navitas 600A TAC2 controller paired with a 5kW AC induction motor. This is the upgrade owners choose when a lifted cart with oversized tires feels sluggish on hills, when a stock series motor keeps overheating, or when a lithium pack deserves a drivetrain that can actually use it.
Going AC changes the character of the cart. You get real torque from a standstill, regenerative braking that holds the cart back down a grade instead of freewheeling, and noticeably longer run time from the same battery pack because AC drives are simply more efficient than the DC series systems they replace.
Choose Your Cart — Fitment by Variant
This kit ships in six cart-specific versions. Select the variant that matches your cart and existing controller from the dropdown above. Each version includes the correct OEM-direct connector, mounting plate and auxiliary harness for that platform.

Installation
These kits are plug-and-play for the listed platforms — the harness connects to your existing wiring and the motor drops into the stock location using the supplied mounting plate. Budget most of a day if you are doing it yourself, and expect to spend real time on the motor swap rather than the wiring.
Before you order, check these three things
- Battery pack. A 600A AC drive pulls hard. Tired lead-acid batteries will sag under it and you will not see the performance you paid for. If your pack is near end of life, sort that first.
- Controller model. Confirm the Curtis model number under the seat so you pick the right variant above.
- Model year. Some 2022-and-newer carts use APPS throttle systems that require a different kit. Call us before ordering if your cart is 2022 or newer.
Local installation available
We install these ourselves. If you are in Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula, Perris, Hemet, Corona or anywhere in our Riverside County service area, our mobile van comes to you — we handle the swap, the programming and the road test. Frequently Asked Questions
How much faster will my cart be?
It depends on your tire diameter, gear ratio, pack voltage and weight, so we will not quote you a number that may not hold on your cart. What the AC swap reliably changes is low-speed torque, hill-holding and heat — the cart stops bogging. Final top speed is set in the programmer and should be chosen to match your tires, brakes and how the cart is used.
Do I need the On-The-Fly programmer?
It is included in this kit. It lets you change top speed, acceleration and regen from a knob without pulling out a laptop. The Bluetooth app covers the same settings plus live monitoring.
Will this work with lithium batteries?
Yes, and it is a good pairing — an AC drive takes better advantage of lithium's flat discharge curve than a DC series system does. Confirm your BMS continuous discharge rating supports the draw.
Is it street legal?
The kit itself does not change your cart's legal classification. If raising top speed pushes the vehicle into LSV territory, the cart needs to meet LSV equipment requirements. Ask us before you set the speed limit.
Can I keep my existing motor?
No. This is a DC-to-AC conversion — the AC motor is what makes the system work, and it is included.
