A 2016 Elegante built by Western Golf Car, upgraded where it counts: a 48-volt Allied lithium pack, a Navitas 600-amp controller, an onboard charger and a new windshield. The Elegante body has always been the draw — it is a distinctly styled cart that does not look like every other TXT and Precedent in the neighborhood — and this one has the drivetrain to match the looks.
The combination of a lithium pack and a Navitas controller is what makes this cart interesting rather than just attractive. Lithium holds voltage steadily under load instead of sagging the way lead-acid does, and the Navitas controller is programmable, so acceleration, top speed and regenerative braking can be tuned to how you actually drive. That pairing is a common aftermarket upgrade we install, and it is already done here.

About the Elegante and Western Golf Car
Western Golf Car is a California builder, and the Elegante is its signature body — longer, more sculpted and more automotive-looking than the standard fleet-cart shapes. Elegante bodies have been sold and badged under several names over the years, so you may see the same silhouette listed under a different brand elsewhere. If you have questions about how this particular cart is titled or badged, ask us and we will show you the actual vehicle documentation rather than guess.
What the Navitas Controller Adds
A stock golf cart controller has fixed behavior. A Navitas unit is programmable over Bluetooth, which means top speed, acceleration curve, regen strength and current limits can all be set. Regenerative braking is the feature owners notice most: the cart holds itself back on a downgrade instead of freewheeling, which matters on the hills around Canyon Lake and saves brake wear.
It also means the cart can be set up conservatively. If it is going to be driven by more than one person in the household, we can dial the top speed and acceleration down to something appropriate before you take delivery. Just ask.
Before You Drive It Off
Raising a cart's top speed does not change its legal classification. A standard golf cart and a Low-Speed Vehicle are different categories with different equipment requirements, and where you can legally drive depends on the specific road. Tell us where you plan to use it and we will tell you what applies, honestly, before money changes hands.
What to Check on Any 2016 Cart
A ten-year-old cart earns its price on condition, not on the year printed in the listing. The things that actually matter are the state of the battery pack, whether the charger and controller are a properly matched pair, brake condition, steering play and whether water has ever gotten into the electrical connections. This cart went through our shop rather than straight from a trade-in to the listing, and we will walk you through every one of those items in person. If something needs attention, we would rather tell you now than have you find it in a month.
Service and Parts
We install and service Navitas systems and lithium packs as everyday work, so this cart's upgrades are not a mystery to us if something needs attention later. Browse Navitas AC controllers, Navitas controllers and parts, or batteries and chargers.
