Navitas TAC2 440-amp AC controller upgrade kit for the 48V EZGO RXV (Curtis) — turn a stock RXV into a lifted-cart-ready, 25 MPH performer with full Bluetooth telemetry.
This is the highest-leverage performance upgrade you can do to a Curtis-controlled EZGO RXV without replacing the motor. The Navitas TAC2 is a sealed, IP65-rated AC controller that drops in using your factory motor, solenoid, and existing wiring harness — no rewiring, no custom brackets, no machining. The included Bluetooth module pairs with the Navitas dashboard app on iOS or Android, giving you live voltage, motor temp, controller temp, and gear-state data on your phone, plus one-button cart lockout and email-able diagnostic alerts you can fire straight to your tech.
Compatibility
- EZGO RXV — 48-volt models with the original Curtis controller
- Recommended for carts running stock 18" tires (delivers up to 25 MPH) or lifted carts with larger tires running in hilly terrain
- Works with stock motor and solenoid — no motor swap required
- Requires the Navitas On-The-Fly Programmer (sold separately) for tunable parameter adjustments
Not sure if your RXV has the Curtis controller? Check the controller label under the seat — Curtis units carry a green "Curtis" sticker with a 1206-series part number. Carts that already have the Navitas OEM controller don't need this upgrade.
Kit Features
- 440-amp AC TAC2 controller, IP65-sealed for moisture and dust
- Bluetooth module — pairs with Navitas OEM, Dealer, and End-User apps
- Live telemetry: speed, gear, voltage, motor temperature, controller temperature
- Tunable top speed, acceleration, regen braking, and battery range protection
- "Cruise mode" — bumps top speed an extra ~15% for open-road runs
- One-click cart lockout (theft deterrent / overnight security)
- Direct email diagnostic alerts to your dealer or technician
- Plug-and-play harness — uses every factory connector
Installation Notes
Install runs about 2 hours for an experienced golf cart tech and is fully reversible — your original Curtis controller can be reinstalled if you ever resell the cart. The TAC2 mounts to the existing controller bracket using factory hardware. Disconnect the main negative battery cable before unbolting the original controller, label all power leads (B+, B-, M-, M+, A1, A2) before removal, and torque all power lugs to 9–11 Nm. Pair the Bluetooth module to your phone before final reassembly so you can verify the speedometer signal on first power-up. The On-The-Fly Programmer (sold separately) is required to fine-tune top speed, regen, and acceleration after install.
If you'd rather not handle the install yourself, our mobile golf cart repair team drives to you in Canyon Lake, Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Corona, Winchester, Perris, Hemet, and Riverside. Most TAC2 installs are completed same-day, and we'll dial in your speed and regen settings on-site so the cart drives the way you want it before we leave.
