The pre-charge resistor on a 2010-Up E-Z-GO TXT is a small but critical part: it eases voltage onto the controller's capacitors a fraction of a second before the main solenoid closes. When it fails, the solenoid contacts arc on every start — you hear loud chatter or a hard "clack," the contacts pit quickly, and the cart eventually develops an intermittent no-go condition. Replacing this inexpensive resistor protects the much more expensive solenoid and controller.

Installation notes
Disconnect the battery pack at the main before you start. The resistor wires across the two large solenoid terminals. If your cart already has heavy solenoid chatter, inspect the main solenoid at the same time — once the contacts are pitted, a new resistor alone will not fix a cart that has been running without one. Replacing the resistor and solenoid together is the durable repair.
