When you upgrade a Yamaha G29/Drive 48V cart to a Curtis or Navitas controller, the controller itself is universal — it doesn't know what cart it's in. The vehicle module is the personality file: a small electronic module that plugs into the controller and tells it which inputs the Yamaha uses (forward/reverse sense, tow switch, regen logic, gauge output, brake light wiring) so the cart drives the way Yamaha intended, only faster and smoother.

Installation Notes
Plan 30-45 minutes if the controller is already installed. The vehicle module plugs into a dedicated socket on the Curtis or Navitas controller; it does not splice into the cart's main harness. Disconnect the main battery negative before plugging or unplugging — hot-swapping a vehicle module can damage both the module and the controller. After install, key on with the cart elevated and confirm forward/reverse logic, throttle response, and that the dash gauges read live.
