The Curtis 1268 controller with adapter harness for 2000-Up EZGO TXT is the medium-duty speed and torque upgrade for PDS (Precision Drive System) E-Z-GO TXT carts. It replaces the factory controller, raises the current ceiling, and — paired with the right motor — produces noticeably more low-end torque for climbing and a top speed of about 23 mph on stock tires. This is the standard package for lifted TXTs that need more pull without going to a full Navitas AC conversion.
Compatibility
- E-Z-GO TXT PDS (Precision Drive System) carts, 2000 through Current
- 36-volt and 48-volt electric drivetrains
- Designed for use with Nivel motor #3267, #7146, or the stock TXT motor
- Adapter wire harness included — mates to the factory PDS wiring
Features & specs
- Curtis 1268-series controller — proven Curtis architecture used across thousands of EZGO upgrades
- Top speed: up to 23 mph on stock tires with the matched motor
- Designed for medium-duty lifted applications — great middle ground between stock and heavy-duty kits
- Controller dimensions: 9" x 7" x 3"
- Plug-and-play with included PDS adapter harness
Installation notes
Disconnect the pack negative before pulling the old controller — PDS carts have a "Tow/Run" switch but that does not isolate the pack from the controller. For maximum performance, safety, and durability, run upgraded 4-gauge battery cables (Nivel #1258) and a heavy-duty solenoid at the same time — the stock 6-gauge cables become a bottleneck above 350 amps and will warm up under sustained climbing. Mount the new controller in the original location on the chassis rail, connect the adapter harness end-to-end, then re-flash the PDS programmer if you have one (most installs work fine on the default map). Test in a flat open area before climbing a grade.
